The Stream is Flowing

Welcome to the reflections of Pastor Greg Ruble, lead pastor for Living Streams Community Church. These are posts of some random thoughts, prayers and experiences from my journey as our family serves God in this new church. If you live in the McCordsville/Mt.comfort area and don't have a church home, come worship with us. We'd love to see you in the Stream!

Believing BIG

What's the biggest thing you've had to believe God for? My answer....Living Streams CC! I've walked by faith at several times in my life; studying for the CPA exam, looking for jobs, praying parents through cancer, going into full time ministry, graduating from seminary (not to mention every time I preach). Of all the experiences I've had believing God for things, this church planting biz tops the list. I often wonder if that's just how God wants us, on our knees, believing Him for bigger and BIGGER things.
Last Sunday I had the privilege of sharing God's word at BRCC. I spoke on failing a test of faith and Elijah's experience running and hiding from Jezebel in 1 Kings 19. I could feel Elijah's fear and his peace as he was reminded of the living God at Mt. Sinai. The Lord blessed me, as I learned much about His heart toward those who have fallen in their faith. He surrounded Elijah and He surrounds us too when our heart looks down from Him. As the pastor of a new church, I believe one of my main responsibilities is to do just that...BELIEVE! I'm praying for the gift of faith, that I will dream big and believe God for BIG things to come for His kingdom. Would you join with me through your prayers and participation as we believe BIG in this new adventure called Living Streams Community Church. Blessings.

Hungry for More

It was great! Our last vision meeting on May 10 stirred up a hunger in me for more. Being together with the rest of the Streamers was so encouraging. Our voices were blending together in worship and our friendships continue to grow as we get used to each other. The space provided to us by the Vineyard Community Church has been a real blessing from God (thank you Pastor Rick!). As the summer approaches, my hunger pains for this new body of believers gets stronger. I am longing for the day when we will meet each week and in our homes as we let God have His way with us. I know there will be tough times to endure but I know God is with us. This church is His idea, we are partners with Him and I am hungry for more! Blessings.

Tasting the Good Life

Are you satisfied? Are you satisfied with your Christian life? I'm not with mine. There's a depth of spirituality that I have not been. I believe I've tasted it but that has only served to show me there's more....alot more to the good life Jesus spoke of in John 10:10b. He said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." NIV I think most of us, if we're honest, have only tasted the fullness. Maybe in moments at church or conversations with friends, in a quiet moment before the kids get up or the tiredness at the end of a busy day; in these moments we get a taste of the good life. A still small voice that speaks incredible peace into our souls, the scripture that speaks right to our circumstances and causes us to hope again, the need we were able to meet in secrecy, all aspects of the good life. I know there's more....a lot more and I'm not satisfied!! I want to know Jesus more, the good life is all about Him. I'll be sharing more about this at our vision meeting Saturday, May 10, 7pm at the Vineyard Community Church in Mt. Comfort. I hope you can come and be encouraged to follow Jesus, the One who makes the good life possible. Blessings!
