The Stream is Flowing

Welcome to the reflections of Pastor Greg Ruble, lead pastor for Living Streams Community Church. These are posts of some random thoughts, prayers and experiences from my journey as our family serves God in this new church. If you live in the McCordsville/Mt.comfort area and don't have a church home, come worship with us. We'd love to see you in the Stream!

New Beginnings

I have never been much of a student on bible numerology but as our church begins our eighth year I was reminded that the number eight in the bible signifies a new beginning. Much has happened at LSCC in year seven, the number of completeness, that made me pause to think about the meaning of these special numbers and their meaning for us.

There wasn't a day that went by in the seven years where we weren't praying about a church home. The building we are in was provided rent free by the grace of God flowing through the Meijer corporation. It was a visible reminder that God was with us and was providing for the church. In year seven, LSCC was able to purchase the church building and two acres of ground from Meijer! God moved a mountain for a new church and now we're getting used to calling our address home as we get a new neighbor in the Meijer store. Also in year seven, the church took several weeks in the Spring to take a daring faith challenge. Almost every family was involved in this special bible study and every age group. God used it to stretch us in our giving, growing and going. All of us were unified, believing together and looking forward to walking by faith and not by sight. I am so grateful to God for what He has done and for the people that have been a part of our first seven years.

Tomorrow, Oct 12, 2016, is the beginning of year 8! It is the beginning of a new beginning at LSCC! The Meijer store will be opened by next summer and we believe God will continue to use that to draw people to His church and to Jesus. For that is why we are here, to know Him and to make Him known. I stand amazed at the people who have come to faith in Christ through the ministry of LSCC. Young and old, men and women, people whom God brought into our midst who were dead in their sin and separated from God, heard the gospel and trusted in Jesus for their salvation. They received the ultimate new beginning!

As I look back and look ahead, I ask you to join me in thanking God for His work at LSCC and in the people who have been a part of this effort. He is worthy to be praised! I also ask you to pray with me for LSCC and the new beginning we venture into this year. Ask the Lord of the harvest to bring it in! Ask Him to fill us and use us to bring Him glory and grow His Kingdom. Ask Him to do a new thing and to strengthen us for the days ahead. Those prayers would be the best birthday gift LSCC could get.

Tomorrow is a new beginning! I'm looking forward to the work and the worship in the days to come.
Isa 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Blessings, pastor greg
